A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft, I Am Invincible filly Infatuation has been a natural runner since day one finishing second in the $1million Golden Gift as a two year-old and the talented filly cracked $600,000 in prizemoney on Saturday when scoring a bold win against older horses in the Benchmark 78 event at Rosehill over 1350m.
Trained by Bjorn Baker and ridden by Zac Lloyd, Infatuation led from start to finish to win by a long neck and her trainer Bjorn Baker will look to take the filly back to stakes class during the autumn.
“She’s a filly that has always gone well, fourth in the Magic Millions 2YO and an unlucky sixth in the Magic Millions 3YO this year, so I’m absolutely thrilled for My Racehorse (Syndicators), they are great supporters of the game and supporters of mine,” said Bjorn Baker.
“She can win a stakes race. She was only just beaten in the Gosford Guineas and it’s just a matter of where we go to now, but I thought she was very game today and is finding the line well.”
Infatuation was bought by MyRacehorse/Bjorn Baker Racing/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd so has a big group of owners involved with the micro shares sold by My Racehorse in whose colours she runs.
Her breeder Gall Bloodstock is also in the ownership and if she can win a Black Type going forward will become a very valuable broodmare for the future.
Infatuation is a half-sister to another smart juvenile in Gotta Kiss, who was second in a Group I BRC JJ Atkins. She is one of three winners from stakes-placed Strada mare Sweet Kiss, who has been married to I Am Invincible in recent years. She sadly passed away last year and her final foal is a colt.
