One to Watch – Newcastle

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 17

Opening his account with a debut victory at Newcastle on Tuesday was the full brother to Rosemont stud’s young I Am Invincible sire Strasbourg.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Invincible Spy was set a task facing 1400m at his first start with only two previous trials under his belt, but he produced a tenacious effort and was strong to the line to win by three-quarters of a length.

Invincible Spy was a $650,000 Inglis Easter purchaser from the Yarraman Park draft for First Light Racing / Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / Kestrel Bloodstock and is a full brother to Group II winner Strasbourg being the third winner from three foals to race from Group II placed Danish Spy and all of her winners are by I Am Invincible.

Invincible Spy was a $650,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

A half-sister by Dane Shadow to stakes-winner Forest Spy from stakes-winner Super Snooper, Danish Spy has a yearling colt by I Am Invincible and her two year-old by the same sire called Warhol was sold by Yarraman at Magic Millions this year for $750,0000 to China Horse Club/Newgate/Go/Trilogy.

Danish Spy is due to foal again to I Am Invincible this spring.
