Teofilo
(IRE) was not the only Darley sire to post a stakes-winner at Geelong on Wednesday
with Denman adding a new stakes-winner to his tally after progressive mare Deja
Blue won the $120,000 Listed Rosemont Stud Stakes.
The Robbie Griffiths trained five year-old was fit and ready to rumble at her third run back from a spell
and belied the lack of interest from punters to score a half head win in the
1200 metre sprint at the roughie's price of $31.
Deja Blue raced up on the pace after jumping from an outside gate and was
tenacious to the line.
A $60,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Phoenix Broodamre Farm draft for Griffiths
Training/Peter Ford Thoroughbreds, Deja Blue has won seven of 21 starts earning
over $270,000 in prizemoney for her big group of owners.
A half-sister to stakes-placed Triple Gold, Deja Blue is the best of four winners
from Miss Chaski (USA), an imported daughter of Gone West from a big Black Type
family.
Deja Blue is the eighth stakes-winner for Lonhro's Group I winning son Denman,
who stands at a fee of $11,000.
