One to Watch – Kyneton

Tara Madgwick - Thursday October 12

Trapeze Artist will have a Group I runner this weekend when Griff contests the MRC Caulfield Guineas and he also had a most promising debut winner at Kyneton on Thursday.

Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman, three year-old  gelding Dismount was easy in the market, but gave Ben Allen an easy steer to take the 1210m maiden by more than a length.

uo;The plan was to bounce and go forward and try our luck, then he stepped well which made my job easy,” said Ben Allen.

“They went at a nice gallop which gave us the opportunity to get into the one-one and he relaxed nice. He took a little while to pick u, but when I presented him I always felt like I was going to be the winner.”

Dismount was a $120,000 Magic Millions purchase.

A modest $120,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden Stud draft for Freedman Racing/Julian Blaxland Bloodstock, Dismount is a half-brother to Group III placed Her Empire and is the fifth winner from six foals to race from She’s Not, a placed sibling to Group II winner Love Conquers All and stakes-winner She’s Meaner, the dam of Group II winner Lean Mean Machine and grand-dam of stakes-winner Ballistic Lover.

A daughter of Group I winner She’s a Meanie, She’s Not has a yearling filly by Trapeze Artist and was covered by him again last spring.

Dismount is the eighth winner this season for Trapeze Artist, who stands at a fee of $55,000 at Widden Stud this spring.
