All 2YO heats this morning run at Randwick over 850m until Heat 5 when reduced to 845m.

Heat 6 – Fillies – Lady Tassort – 48.98

Yet another winner for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott with Lady Tassort showing brilliant natural speed to lead and then was very green in her action, but still too quick when let down to break 49 seconds for the first time this morning since Straight Charge won the opening heat.

Lady Tassort was a $40,000 Inglis weanling purchase that passed in at Inglis Classic as a yearling.

A $40,000 Inglis Weanling Sale purchase from the Bell River Thoroughbreds draft, she fell short of her $60,000 reserve at Inglis Classic and runs for a syndicate headed by Redfox Racing. She is from the first crop of Newgate Farm’s Tassort, a fast juvenile for Godolphin by Brazen Beau that had just two race starts winning the Golden Gift on debut and finishing second in the Silver Slipper.

Lady Tassort is the third foal of Ice Cream Lady, a winning Not a Single Doubt mare from the family of Group I winning filly Aragen.

 

Heat 5 – Colts – Highness – 49.29 seconds

Trained by Michael Freedman  for the James Harron colts partners, Snitzel colt Highness did everything right in his heat and when given a slap with the whip by Tommy Berry responded well to forge clear and win.

Highness was a $900,000 Magic Millions purchase.

A $900,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Segenhoe draft for James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership, Highness is a half-brother to two winners from Diana’s Star, a half-sister by Northern Meteor to Australian Horse of the Year Dissident.

ong>Heat 4 – Fillies – Celestial Bling – 49.59

With two scratchings there were just four fillies in this heat with the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Capitalist filly Celestial Bling finishing off well to get home and win this heat from Totoka, a daughter of firs season sire Brutal.

Celestial Bling was a $300,000 Magic Millions purchase.

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase for Trilogy Racing Pty Ltd/Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing from the Newgate Farm draft, Celestial Bling is the second foal from Starry a winning half-sister by Exceed and Excel to Group II winner Zululand from US Group II winner Dream Play (USA).
