Trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy, Theodor was fifth on debut last month at Bendigo on heavy ground and took good improvement from that outing to step up in trip to 1400m and win as expected.

He scored by a length an d a half over a pair of geldings by So You Think in Ruminate and Towering.

A $210,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Longwood Thoroughbred Farm draft, Theodor is a half-brother to Group III winner Brereton and is the fourth winner from five foals to race from Group III winner Fuddle Dee Duddle, a half-sister by Red Ransom (USA) to Group II winner Hallowell Belle and to the dam of Group I winner Bella Nipotina.

Longwood Thoroughbred Farm sold a Zoustar filly from Fuddle Dee Duddle at Magic Millions this year for $1.45million to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock and she has been named Rambling with Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr to train.

Fuddle Dee Duddle has a Zoustar colt to follow and is due to foal to him again this spring.

Theodor is the tenth winner and first of the new season for Trapeze Artist, who stands at Widden this spring at a fee of $55,000.
