Winning Debut for Well Bred Written Tycoon Filly

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday June 28

Bred and sold by Newhaven Park, talented Written Tycoon filly Taormina made a winning debut at Warwick Farm on Wednesday for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

In a race packed with blue blood fillies including siblings to Classique Legend and Trekking, Taormina flew a little below the radar, but she had placed at her three previous trials and delivered the goods under race conditions.

She led and was strong to the line to win the 1200m maiden by three-quarters of a length over Artic Glamour with third place filled by I Am Famous, the $2million I Am Invincible half-sister to Classique Legend.

Taormina was a $450,000 Magic Millions purchase for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott/Kestrel Thoroughbreds from Newhaven Park and is the third winner from three foals to race from Infra Dig, a metro winning Exceed and Excel mare from the family of Champion 2YO and 3YO Filly English.

Taormina was a $450,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Newhaven Park sold a yearling colt by Frosted (USA) from Infra Dig at Magic Millions this year for $100,000 and she is in foal to one of the farm’s resident sires Xtravagant.
