Tutta La Vita Fourth Winner for The Autumn Sun

Mark Smith - Saturday June 17

The progressive filly Tutta La Vita looks sure to be a major player in the 3yo filly features in the spring despite making hard work of breaking her maiden over 1400m at Rosehill.

Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy for Chris Waller, Tutta La Vita was among the best to begin. She travelled sweetly on the outside of leader Canadian Ruler.

Supporters of the odds-on favourite began to sweat when Canadian Ruler rallied before a final surge by Tutta La Vita. Once balanced up, the daughter of The Autumn Sun defeated the Vancouver gelding Canadian Ruler by a neck, with the wayward Snitzel colt Gelatin a half-length back in third.

Second to Zoukerette when on debut at Canterbury on May 24,  Tutta La Vita was a luckless second to her high-priced stablemate Congregation at Rosehill on June 3.

“It wasn’t pretty for a short-priced favourite. Kerrin took bad luck out of the equation and rode her forward, which took away a bit of the acceleration she showed last start,” Chris Waller said.

“She got the job done and is a 2yo winner, and she can go out now and return a nice 3yo filly.

“A daughter of the Autumn Sun, so I’m proud to be training his progeny – he was a superstar.

“She has a long way to go, but the whole stable has a huge opinion of her. She is showing all the right signs. She is a decent horse, and to get a win at two and get a bit more prizemoney, she is now a proper racehorse with three races.”

A $300,00 purchase for Kevin Kelly, on behalf of Kevin and Vikki Payne, from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Tutta La Vita is the eleventh winner for the magnificent matron, Negotiate.

The rising 19yo daughter of Red Ransom is the dam of Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes-winner Secret Agenda (Not A Single Doubt) and stakes-placed winners Stellar Pauline (Not A Single Doubt), Donandkim (Smart Missile), and Sweetener (Snitzel). She is the granddam of dual Group III winner Enthaar (Written Tycoon).

Mitch Freedman Racing bought a Dundeel colt from Negotiate for $150,000 at the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

After foaling a Snitzel colt last spring, Negotiate was covered by Too Darn Hot (GB) in December.

Tutta La Vita is the fourth first-crop winner for Arrowfield Stud’s 5-time Group 1 winner The Autumn Sun (Redoute’s Choice).
