A homebred for Al Shaqab Racing, two year-old filly Balsam was second at her first two starts and took valuable race experience into this five furlong scamper to forge clear and win the Listed Prix des Reves d'Or Jacques Bouchara at Vichy by three-quarters of a length.
Trained by Henri-Francois Devin, Balsam overpowered the short priced favourite Les Pavots (No Nay Never) who was coming off an impressive debut victory.

Balsam is the 32nd stakes-winner for Wootton Bassett, who returns to Coolmore Australia this spring at a fee of $93,500.
