The
first country two year-old race of the season, the $22,000 Romantic Dream Plate,
was run at Tamworth on Sunday with victory going to the Neil Godbolt trained Hinchinbrook
filly Taken on Chance.
A heavy track proved no hurdle for Taken on Chance, who led throughout to win
the 1000 metre scamper by half a length.
Taken on Chance is the first foal of metropolitan winner Never Doubt Me, a
daughter of top class sire Not a Single Doubt, who was also trained by Neil
Godbolt and won 11 races.
A three-quarter brother to Snitzel, Hinchinbrook sired eight two year-old
winners last season headed by Group II winner Diamond Tathagata.
He is fully booked at Yarraman Park this spring at a fee of $44,000.
