Estijaab Brother Sells for $1.4million

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 4

The Kia Ora / TFI partnership swooped on the $1.55 million I Am Invincible colt from English during Monday’s session of Inglis Easter and they struck again on Tuesday paying $1.4million for Arrowfield Stud’s Snitzel colt from Response.

A full brother to Golden Slipper winner Estijaab, the Champion 2YO of 2018, from dual Group I winning Charge Forward mare Response, the colt is another outstanding individual from a top producing mare.

Response has had five foals to race four winners with Estijaab joined by stakes performers Remarque and Alter Call, while her unraced two year-old colt by Snitzel that made $2.25 million at this sale last year is in work with Chris Waller and named Congregation.

Shane Wright of Kia Ora and Sally Williams from TFI were thrilled to secure not one but two outstanding colts from this sale talking to Jemma Cutting of Inglis after their success.

“His sister is a champion and that Snitzel x Charge Forward cross works so well,” Wright said.

“There was a lot of competition for him, but we got him in the end, so we couldn’t be happier.”

Sally Williams has been doing the hard yards having spent the past eight days at the complex.

“We loved him from the first moment we saw him on the farm,” she said.

“He’s a sister to a champion, by a champion and out of a champion, so he really does tick all the boxes.”

Response has proven a very profitable mare as well as being  a very successful mare with her six yearlings offered at public auction selling for a whopping $7,325,000 with Golden Slipper winner Estijaab purchased from Inglis Easter in 2017 for $1.7million.

Response had a colt by The Autumn Sun last year and is now back in foal to Snitzel.
