Mare with quality RELIABLE MAN colt at foot for sale on gavehouse.com

Media Release - Friday October 13
Bidding is open in the latest gavelhouse New Zealand catalogue until 7pm on Monday 16 October with 49 lots on offer including a well-related VOLKSRAAD mare with a RELIABLE MAN colt at foot.

Springtime Fever with her 9 day old colt by Reliable ManAt Lot 46Springtime Fever is a winner over 1000m in Australia and a daughter of champion juvenile and champion sprinting filly SPRING RAIN (Centaine).

Springtime Fever is by champion sire and broodmare sire, VOLKSRAAD who has sired the dams of Group One winners ABLE FRIEND, BEAUTY FLASH, SHAMEXPRESS, VOLKSTOK'N'BARRELL and KAWI.

Meanwhile of RELIABLE MAN's star performers to date VOLKSRAAD is the dam-sire of Gr.1 Sires Produce Stakes runner up Belle du Nord, further adding to the credentials of Springtime Fever's grey/chestnut colt born on 29 September. Located at Gordon Cunningham's Curraghmore in New Zealand the mare and foal are in close proximity to the majority of the country's leading stud farms, with Springtime Fever soon be ready for service this season.

Of the colt physically as this early stage Gordon Cunningham offered "He's a quality individual with plenty of leg and is well conformed."

The future looks bright for Westbury Stud's shuttling Gr.1 Prix du Jockey Club and Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner RELIABLE MAN. With his first crop now three it includes a number of hopes for Derby and Oaks glory heading into the spring carnival including Trent and Natalie Busuttin's MAIN STAGE who took out Saturday's Listed UCI Stakes at Flemington and stable-mate Sully who headed to Sydney to finish third in the Gr.1 Spring Champion Stakes.

Another value package in the auction is Waikato Stud's Barbara Ann. At Lot 31, she is half-sister to dual Group One winner MAC O'REILLY and is offered in foal to five-time Group One winner and Cox Plate hero OCEAN PARK with a colt by dual Doncaster winner SACRED FALLS at foot. Her most recent yearling to sell fetched up to $250,000 at Karaka earlier this year.

The catalogue also presents an increasingly rare opportunity to secure a ZABEEL mare in Shezforeel. In foal to El Hermano, the full brother to Cox Plate winner EL SEGUNDO (Pins), this is the same cross that has produced Gr.1 Auckland Cup runner up El Pistola.

The final countdown is set for 7pm NZ time on Monday 16th October. Simply register online to bid and for assistance email the team on info@gavelhouse.com or call +64 9 296 4436.
