Frankel is one of the best stallions in the world and when you get the chance to buy one of his yearling fillies for just $115,000 and she comes out and posts back to back wins and holds an entry for the Group I ATC Australian Oaks - that’s a win in itself!
Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, three year-old filly Frankie’s Me Dad broke her maiden at Newcastle on the Beaumont track on February 13 and then made it back to back wins when scoring by more than a length in the 2300m Class 1 event at Newcastle on Friday.
Frankie’s Me Dad has two wins and a placing from four starts and connections will be hoping her rise continues with the Group I ATC Australian Oaks on April 8 the dream.
Frankie’s Me Dad was a savvy $115,000 purchase for Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock from the Yulong draft at Inglis Premier, but her path to the winner’s circle has not been smooth.
The filly did not race at two due to a horrific paddock accident that very nearly took her life when she tangled with a fence during a thunderstorm.
Dynamic Syndications detailed the extent of her injuries and long rehabilitation on their website after her maiden win and there would be a big team of people involved in the care of Frankie’s Me Dad that would now be taking a lot of pleasure in her success.
Frankie’s Me Dad is the first winner for Daddys Poppit (GB), a winning Scat Daddy daughter of US Group III winner Valiant Girl from a prolific international Black Type family.
Daddys Poppit produced a filly for Yulong last spring by Alabama Express and is back in foal to him again.
