One to Watch – Ararat

Tara Madgwick - Sunday February 5

The powerful Maher Eustace stable picked a soft option on a Sunday at Ararat for this blue-blooded Pierro filly and she duly obliged with a debut victory bringing an important pedigree update for her Inglis Classic bound half-brother.

A homebred for Ozzie Kheir, Madalsa was favourite for the 1600m maiden and cruised home an easy winner to score by more than two lengths.

Madalsa is the second foal and first winner for blue-blooded import Adawiyah (IRE), whose first foal is unraced Frankel mare Miss Frankie, who went to stud last spring for Yulong and was covered by Tagaloa.

Madalsa is bred to appreciate longer trips as her dam a half-sister by champion sire Dubawi to stakes-winner Apache Spirit from the family of Champion 3YO Filly Aquarelliste.

Cannon Hayes Stud will offer the yearling Dundeel colt from Adawiyah at Inglis Classic as Lot 730 and for yearling buyers looking for classic potential he’s going to be on the must inspect list.

Dundeel colt from Adawiyah is bred for Classic success!

A $40,000 purchase from the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale last year, he is bred on the exact same cross as last week’s super impressive debut juvenile Militarize, who is also by Dundeel from a daughter of Dubawi.
