Pinhook Winners Karaka Book 1

Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 2

Strong trade at the NZB National Yearling Sale earlier this week brought some great pinhook results, so let’s take a look at some of the best with a colt by Deep Field topping the list.

Offered by Carlaw Park, the Deep Field colt from Waruna was snapped up by Jamie Richards Racing / Andrew Williams Bloodstock and will be headed to Hong Kong, which has proven to be a happy hunting ground for the progeny of his sire.

He is the second foal of metro winning All Too Hard mare Waruna, a half-sister to Group II winner Positive Peace. Waruna did not have a foal last year, but was one of the first mares covered by Kia Ora Stud’s young sire Prague last spring.
