A good result at the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board has freed jockey Ben Melham to ride at Saturday's Caulfield Guineas meeting.
Melham received a nine-meeting suspension for causing low-range interference aboard Keysor at Ballarat last Thursday but lodged an appeal against the conviction and the severity of the penalty.
However, Melham withdrew the appeal against the conviction at the start of the hearing.
Melham did not apply for a stay of proceedings and the RAD Board upheld his appeal against the penalty, cutting his suspension by two meetings.
Melham's suspension now expires at midnight on Friday. The jockey will ride Perast in the Caulfield Guineas and I Am A Star in the Toorak Handicap.
