Fresh
from siring a Group double on Saturday with Ace High and Bring Me Roses, High
Chaparral (IRE) kept the winning run going in South Africa on Saturday with a
maiden win for three year-old filly Lady Val.
She beat older horses to win over 1400 metres as favourite at her second start
for the James Goodman stable.
Lady Val was a $50,000 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale purchase from the
Coolmore draft for Kilimanjaro Horse Sales.
She is the second winner from Took (USA), a half-sister by Giant’s Causeway to
Group III winner Intelligence Cross and HK stakes-winner Sweet Orange (USA),
who stands at Aquis Farm this spring in Queensland.
Took has a yearling colt by Uncle Mo (USA) and is due to foal to Vancouver.
