The Annabel Neasham-trained Holyfield stopped the clock at a track record 1,07,74 when leading home a 1-2 for I Am Invincible in Saturday’s Listed Aquis Stallions Keith Noud Quality (1200m) at Doomben.
Given a positive ride by Brodie Loy, Holyfield defeated the favourite Garibaldi (I Am Invincible) by one and a quarter lengths with a further one and a half lengths back to Tavisan (Tavistock) in third.
With his fourth stakes success, Holyfield advances his record to seven wins, two seconds, and two thirds from 25 starts with earnings of $789,190.
Originally trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace for Aquis, Holyfield was sold through the 20201 Inglis Digital July (late) Sale for $180,000 and transferred to Neasham as the winner of four of nine starts.
An $800,000 Magic Millions purchase for Phoenix Thoroughbreds and Aquis from the Segenhoe draft, Holyfield is a brother to stakes-placed Vamos Bebe.
He is the best of four winners from five to race from the Group I VRC Myer Classic winner Hurtle Myrtle (Dane Shadow), who Segenhoe bought for $1million at the 2012 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
Her filly by Deep Field sold for $240,000 at Magic Millions this year to Bjorn Baker Racing/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd.
Hurtle Myrtle foaled a Capitalist filly on September 6.
