30th Stakes-Winner for Pierro

Tara Madgwick - Saturday September 3

Golden Slipper winning sire Pierro posted his 30th stakes-winner on Saturday when super consistent gelding Bonaparte landed the Listed Tatts Members Cup (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Trained by Stuart Kendrick, Bonaparte was a last start winner at the track and charged to the line to beat race favourite Snippy Fox by a long neck.

Bonaparte was originally a $360,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft for Paul Moroney Bloodstock and did his initial racing in Victoria before being purchased by Kendrick through Inglis Digital in August 2020 for $50,000.

Bonaparte was a $360,000 Magic Millions yearling purchase

He has proven an outstanding investment for his new ownership group winning six races for them and over $200,000.

Bred by GSA Bloodstock, Bonaparte is the best of three winners from Trafalgar Miss, a placed half-sister by War Pass (USA) to Group I winner Sizzling.

Trafalgar Miss was on-sold in 2020 for just $1500 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2020 and produced a filly by Jungle Cat (IRE) last year.

Pierro is on the board with his first SW of the new season.

Bonaparte is the first stakes-winner of the new season for Pierro, who stands at Coolmore at a fee of $99,000 this spring.
