Comeback jockey Jarrod Lorensini was taken to a nearby hospital after a fall at Echuca on Monday.
Lorensini was thrown from his mount Dupo after the first-starter hit the running rail heading into the first turn of the De Bortoli Wines Maiden Plate (1000m).
Paramedics treated Lorensini on the track, where he complained of shoulder pain, before he was transported to Echuca Hospital for x-rays.
Stewards will open an inquiry into the incident during the Echuca meeting.
