Pride of Dubai Filly Salutes

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 6

A short  priced favourite for the opening race at Sandown on Wednesday, talented 3YO Pride of Dubai filly Hypothetical did the right thing by her supporters when cruising home to win by a length.

Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman, Hypothetical was second on debut at Mornington last month and took benefit from that outing to score her first win with Billy Egan in the saddle.

10,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Segenhoe Stud draft for Mitchell Bloodstock, Hypothetical runs for an ownership group that includes Boyd Bloodstock and Yarraman Park.

Bred by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, who also bred and raced her sire Pride of Dubai, Hypothetical is a half-sister to stakes-placed Avenue of Pleasure and is the third winner from three to race from winning Fastnet Rock mare Fitna.

A daughter of Group I winner Carry on Cutie and half-sister to the dam of Group I winning sire The Mission, Fitna was on-sold last year in the 2021 Inglis Digital June Sale after missing to Pride of Dubai and was snapped up by Harry McAlpine Bloodstock for $70,000.

Avenue of Pleasure sold at the recent Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $550,000 to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock (FBAA) / Longwood Thoroughbred Farm / Peter Morgan in foal to Wootton Bassett (GB) and Fitna is now in foal to Spirit of Boom, so this family looks to have plenty of irons in the fire.

Pride of Dubai stands at a fee of just $16,500 this spring, click for more info.

Hypothetical will help Pride of Dubai keep his nose in front of his former barn mate Vancouver in the battle to be leading third crop sire by earnings.

Pride of Dubai currently has 65 winners of $5.1milion and Vancouver has 67 winners of $5million!

Pride of Dubai stands at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $16,500.
