Collector's Items Make Newhaven Park Draft a Must Inspect

Newhaven Park have brought a select draft of seven to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and included is a very rare creature, an eye-catching grey colt by proven Group I sire Dundeel, while the half-sister to Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Odeum is a collector’s item.

Bred and sold by Newhaven Park, G1 star Odeum has a half-sister to be offered at Inglis Easter - image Grant Courtney.

The Kelly family have been breeding superior horses since their purchase of Newhaven Park at Boorowa in the 1920’s and the current star performers bred/ sold or raised on the farm are ensuring the future is every bit as bright as the past.

The current crop of star performers raised/ bred or sold by Newhaven Park includes Group I ATC Golden Rose winning colt In the Congo, dual Group I winner Shout the Bar and outstanding Group I winning 3YO Filly Odeum, the star trio backed up by the likes of Kissonallforcheeks, The Inferno, Lavish Girl, He’s Xceptional, Lunar Impact, Yao Dash, Robodira, The Harrovian and this season’s 2YO Xtravagant Star, winner of the $2million Inglis Millennium.

Lot 5 Colt Zoustar x Vergara, by Snippetson

Third foal of Group III winner Vergara and is a half-brother to promising 3YO Growl, who has won since the catalogue went to print at Moonee Valley and is trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. Dam is a half-sister to Group II winner Valiant Spirit from the family of dual Group I winner and sire Turffontein.

 

Lot 7 Colt Fastnet Rock x Viadana (NZ), by Towkay

 

Third foal of triple Group I winning sprinter miler Viadana, whose first two foals are both winners.  Dam is a half-sister to stakes-winner Indecision from the family if Group winners Singing Star and Miss Selby.



Lot 155 Colt Capitalist x Enquare, by Stratum

Third foal of brilliant Group III winning sprinter Enquare and is a three-quarter brother to smart mare Written Miss, who has had three wins from four starts. Dam is a daughter of multiple Group winner and Group I placed mare Skewiff. Bred on the exact same cross as this season’s exciting unbeaten Queensland 2YO Capital Tower.



Lot 212 Filly Lonhro x Hill of Grange by Helmet


Three-quarter sister-in-blood to explosive Group II winning and Group I placed sprinter Heatherly, who sold for $1.6million off the track as a broodmare in 2018. She is the first foal of Hill of Grange, whose dam is a half-sister to Group I BRC Stradbroke Handicap winner Linton.



Lot 301 Colt Dundeel x Moone’s My Name (USA), by Intikhab


Rare grey colt by Group I sire Dundeel. Third foal from well performed imported stakes-winner Moone’s My Name, who was successful in the UK and North America where she was Group III placed. Fourth dam is Champion European 3YO Filly Altesse Royale.



Lot 307 Filly Zoustar x Movie, by Red Ransom (USA)


Half-sister to Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Odeum and $1.1million earning stakes-winner Goodfella from stakes-placed Movie, who comes from the family of Group I winning $3.7million earner Gytrash. Bred on successful Zoustar x Red Ransom nick that has produced Champion 3YO Filly Sunlight and Group winners Brereton and Sisstar.


Lot 351 Colt Deep Field x Plastered (USA), by Wilburn


First foal of stakes-placed Plastered, a half-sister to Group II placed Classic Giacnroll from stakes--winner Classic Woman. From top class international family featuring Group I winners Ad Valorem, Tight Spot and Valiant Nature.
