Yulong homebred Frankel filly My Whisper made a smooth transition from maiden company to midweek company scoring a dominant victory at Sandown on Wednesday, could she be the next Aussie stakes-winner for Juddmonte Farm’s champion sire?
An easy maiden winner at Kilmore at her second start last month, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly made it look too easy when stepping up to a Benchmark 64 event over 1300m.
Ridden by Jamie Kah, she drew wide, but cruised clear to win by a length and three-quarters and no doubt has Black Type aspirations going forward.
“She was fantastic today, said Jamie Kah.
“It was a less than ideal run, but I just kept her happy and trusted that she was good enough.
“She relaxed fantastic and there are bigger races in store for her.”
At Round Two of the Inglis Easter Sale in 2020, Yulong did offer four Frankels but three were passed in and they included My Whisper who fell short of her $300,000 reserve which may well prove a blessing.
She is the first foal of the Poet’s Voice mare Hersigh (GB).
A Godolphin homebred, Hersigh won races on the all-weather at Chelmsford and Lingfield in an eight start career.
A half-sister to Listed stakes-winner Ennaadd (King’s Best), Hersigh is out of the stakes-winning Singspiel mare Zayn Zed whose dam Roshani is a three-quarter sister to the champion Oh So Sharp. Consigned to the 2017 Tattersalls August Sale,Hersigh was purchased by BBA Ireland for.£52,000..
Yulong's principal Yuesheng Zhang is a huge fan of Frankel and has already enjoyed classic success with dual Group I winner Hungry Heart.
Hersigh (GB) has a 2yo filly by Snitzel and a yearling filly by Grunt.
After missing to Grunt in 2020, Hersigh (GB) visited Lucky Vega (IRE) last spring.
