Arrowfield Stud’s champion sire Snitzel flexed his muscles at Caulfield on Saturday to sire a new 2YO stakes-winner, the sire of the sire of another new 2YO stakes-winner and also the dam of the winner of the Group II sprint on the card.

He is the 74th Group winner and 118th stakes-winner for Snitzel and the first to be bred from a daughter of Exceed and Excel, the nick having had three winners from five runners.

Snitzel has had good success with Red Ransom line mares with notable successes the Group I winners Trapeze Artist, Estijaab and Yearning.

 

Marine One is the second stakes-winner for Capitalist from a daughter of Snitzel - image Grant Courtney.

He becomes the tenth stakes-winner for Snitzel as a broodmare sire. He is also the second stakes-winner for Capitalist bred from a daughter of Snitzel joining Profiteer, the nick producing five winners from 10 runners.
