Short-priced favourites dominate betting right across the eight-race card at Wyong on Sunday but there are some question marks on a few of them so looking for value in finding our three bets.
The Tim Martin-trained Shudabeen back to 1000m in a provincial maiden after finishing runner-up at Canterbury resuming looks the standout bet on the program and is the only favourite I could tip with any confidence but will be looking for better odds as the day progresses so happy to work away from the top picks to find our three plays for the day.
THISTLEDO (Race 4 No 1)
The Bjorn Baker-trained Thistledo will have the services of Golden Rose winning jockey Tye Angland in the Go Electrical Raceday At Wyong Thursday October 12 Class 1 Handicap (1000m) and looks set for back to back wins after an all the way victory at Gosford.
Racing at Hawkesbury last Thursday added merit to the first-up victory with the runner-up Ready For Love winning her maiden whilst the third horse Oxford Bella finishing a close second in her assignment.
With scope for improvement second-up and a confirmed formline Thistledo will take plenty of beating.
CEDARWOOD (Race 6 No 4)
The Chris Waller-trained Cedarwood did the job for us at Kembla last start ($15 at the time of publishing into $5) and I see no reason we shouldn't be on again on Sunday.
Cedarwood ran quicker time than the benchmark 68 winner on the day over the same journey and the merit of the form was franked by the win of Babe In Boots at Kembla on Saturday.
Happy to have something on again at the $4 available in early betting in the H&H Catering – NSW Regional Caterer 2017 Class 1 Handicap (1350m).
INVINCIBLE QUEST (Race 8 No 6)
The Likes of Bella Vino, Smooth Tycoon, Azzie's Ready, Hillary Step and Stradance are likely to set a cracking speed in the Magic Millions At Wyong Thursday December 21 Benchmark 74 Handicap (1000m) which will give the Brett Partelle-trained Invincible Quest the chance to finish over the top of the speedsters.
Invincible Quest has shown plenty of early toe in his own right leading all the way to win a Cessnock maiden last preparation over 900m by close to six-lengths last preparation but he did come from the back of the field after being slow away to win at Goulburn on debut and racing off the speed may well be the racing pattern that see's the best of him.
Invincible Quest returns from a 164-day break between races but looks primed for a first-up win with Partelle giving the son of I Am Invincible three preparatory trials including a win a Wyong on September 11 before finishing runner-up in the latest trial at Gosford.
