Bob and Sandra Peters have enjoyed phenomenal success over the Perth Summer Carnival and it continued on Saturday at Ascot when their top class Pierro gelding Regal Power backed up from a last start victory in the $1million Group I Kingston Town Stakes (1800m) to take out the $250,000 Group II WATC Ven Heemst Stakes (2100m).
Winner of the Group I WATC Railway Stakes in 2019 and the $5million MRC All Star Mile in 2020, Regal Power is enjoying a fresh round of success as 2021 draws to a close, the Grant and Alana Williams trained gelding scoring a dominant length and three-quarter win as a hot favourite.
Regal Power has the overall record of nine wins and seven placings from 27 starts with earnings of $4.6million.
He will now head for the spelling paddock and is unlikely to be prepared for an Eastern States autumn campaign.
The best of four winners from stakes-winning Redoute's Choice mare Broadway Belle, he is a full brother to Group II WATC Derby winner Action.
He is also a brother-in-blood to the Peters homebreds Arcadia Queen, a three time Group I winner of $3.9million and Arcadia Prince, winner of the Group III WATC Scahill Stakes.
Broadway Belle has been a regular visitor to Coolmore and has a two year-old filly by Pierro called Regal Order and a yearling colt by the same sire that has already been named Regal Service.
The star producer was covered again by Coolmore's champion sire Pierro this year in October.
Pierro has 20 entries for Magic Millions and 13 for Inglis Classic.
