Lope de Vega Fee Unchanged at €125,000, Invincible Spirit Reduced

Ballylinch Stud have announced their fees with flagbearer Lope de Vega remaining at €125,000 following a successful year that has seen him sire 19 stakes-winners and 48 stakes horses in total.

His star performers include Australian Group I winner Vega One and Northern Hemisphere Group II winners Duhail, Rodaballo and La Dragontea.

Stud managing director John O’Connor said, "Lope De Vega confirmed that he is one of the world’s elite sires, with an exceptional 48 black-type horses in 2021 alone.

“He has achieved success at the highest level on four different continents and is one of those rare sires who can truly be called a global success.

"Ever popular at the sales, Lope De Vega was the leading sire at Tattersalls Book 1 by aggregate and his yearlings averaged over €220,000.”

His Group I winning son Lucky Vega, currently finishing his first season at Yulong in Victoria will stand at the Irish National Stud at a fee of €15,000 alongside champion sire Invincible Spirit, whose fee has been reduced from €80,000 to €60,000.

Invincible Spirit turns 25 next year and has proven a highly influential sire through his champion sire sons I Am Invincible and Kingman.
