Breeders with mares foaling to Coolmore shuttler Magna Grecia (IRE) this spring or booked to him will be interested to note the fee for his just retired half-brother St Mark’s Basilica has been set at €65,000.
The champion son of Siyouni has taken all before him this year going undefeated in four starts this year all at Group I level following on from a juvenile season when he won the Group I Dewhurst Stakes (7f).
Effective from 1200 to 2000m, a Group I winner at two and Classic winner at three, St Mark’s Basilica is the total package.
"He's the most exciting prospect we've retired from Ballydoyle since his late grandfather Galileo,” said Coolmore's David O'Loughlin.
"He was European champion two-year-old, the highest-rated three-year-old in the world, a 1,300,000gns yearling by a top sire in Siyouni, a half-brother to another brilliant horse in Magna Grecia, both out of Galileo's Group-winning two-year-old Cabaret.
"He has everything and he'll get terrific support from his owners' broodmare band too."
