G2 Stocks Stakes Won by So You Assume

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 24

The Shane Nichols trained mare So You Assume was a rapid improver through the winter months winning three of four starts in July and August before being given a six week break and the daughter of So You Think reappeared on Friday night to take the quantum leap and win the Group II MVRC Stocks Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

Well rated in front by her regular partner Dean Yendall, So You Assume controlled the race from the front and made it look all too easy as she strode clear for a dominant length and a half win.

So You Assume has the imposing record of five wins and three placings from 12 starts with prizemoney topping $412,000.

h not in attendance due to a Covid scare with a close contact, Shane Nichols has won the Stocks Stakes previously with his former Group I winning stable star I Am a Star and may have similar aspirations with So You Assume.

“I’ll leave that in Shane’s court as to what he plans to do with her, but he will have high expectations for her after that comfortable win today,” said Yendall.
