HEAT NINE 855m – 50.52 –Final heat won by Matt Dunn with the most expensive yearling he has ever trained in Genghis Khan, who scored a neck win over Sejardan (Sebring) with $2.1million Nobel in third place.

Genghis Khan was a $460,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

A $460,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Segenhoe draft M Dunn / Neil Jenkinson, Genghis Khan has a big pedigree being by I Am Invincible from Group II winning Fastnet Rock mare Jolie Bay, a full sister to Merchant Navy.

 

 

HEAT EIGHT- 855m – 50.30 seconds – Coolmore first season sire Merchant Navy had the winner of this trial with the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly Drisana coming from last to score a strong finishing long neck win over Snitcat (Snitzel).

She jumped from the widest gate, so was allowed to find her feet by Kerrin McEvoy, but let down impressively to win running away.

Drisana was a $125,000 Inglis Weanling purchase.

A $125,000 Inglis Weanling purchase from the Segenhoe draft, Drisana is the first foal of Group III winning Sebring mare Broadband, whose dam is a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group I winner Anamato, the dam of superstar colt Anamoe.

SEVEN 855m – 50.60 seconds – The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Brazen Beau colt Resonator was very professional and stuck to his task well over the final furlong to win by a length over Merchant Navy colt Calico Jack.

Resonator was a $360,000 Magic Millions purchase.

A $360,000 Magic Millions purchase from the KBL Thoroughbreds draft for China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock, Resonator is from Dejavu Rock, a winning Fastnet Rock half-sister to stakes-placed Top Slice and Bull Market.

SIX  855m - 50.44 seconds – A homebred for the Vieira family trained by Peter Robl, Deep Field filly Deep Expectation was ridden to win by Kathy O’Hara and took a gap between runners to score a long neck win over Mumbai Jewel (I Am Invincible).

 

Deep Field is the sire of Deep Expectation.

Deep Expectation is a half-sister to five winners and is from good producing Exceed and Excel mare Iltizaam, a half-sister to Group III winner Sharnee Rose from the Asawir branch of the Easy Date family.
