Not disgraced in Group fillies races last preparation, this well bred Snitzel filly always looked well placed in a maiden at Gosford on Friday.
The Richard Litt trained Centro Storico failed to placed in five starts last season, but those runs were in the Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes, Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes, Group III ATC Magic Night Stakes and Wyong Magic Millions 2YO race following a debut fourth at Rosehill on November 28 to Robodira.
The marked drop in grade to a 1000m maiden saw Centro Storico treat the race as a barrier trial and she led all the way to win by a length under Tim Clark.
A $410,000 Magic Millions purchase for Galletta Contructions from the Glastonbury Farms draft, Centro Storico runs for the same ownership as Richard Litt’s former superstar colt Castelvecchio.
She is the first foal for stakes-placed Chachapoyas, a Darley bred half-sister to Group III winner Aramayo from the international family of Group I winners In The Wings and High Hawk.
Chachapoyas was bought by Cunningham Thoroughbreds/BRT Bloodstock for $460,000 at the 2020 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and has a yearling filly by Snitzel and has foaled this spring producing a filly by Zoustar.
