Breednet’s 2021 Premium Online Stallion Directory is a suit for all occasions.
Whereas previously the breeding audience was limited to a set format – a kind of one-size-has-to-fit-all situation – the Breednet directory now allows studs to purpose a stallion’s page with far greater relevance.
A stallion with 5YOs running around often needs just as much love as a sire heading to the breeding barn for the first time in 2021, but you hardly promote them in the same fashion.
Australia’s oldest family-run stud farm, Widden Stud – which opened a division in Victoria earlier this year – is a prime example.
With a combined 23 stallions on the roster, Widden has proven stars such as Zoustar, Magnus, Star Witness and Nicconi, emerging stallions, sires with first yearlings selling in 2022, a sire with first foals just on the ground and three newcomers.
“The Premium section of the Breednet Online Stallion Directory is a terrific way to showcase our roster,” Widden Stud’s Matt Comerford points out.
“Zoustar is doing a great job of promoting himself without anyone’s help, but it’s great to be able to look at his ‘Stud Media’ section and watch The Astrologist’s video of his Aurie’s Star win last week.
“Very few stud farms have managed to get three of their stallions reach the ‘100 winners’ milestone in a season, as we have with Magnus, Nicconi and Star Witness and, again, the multimedia facility allows us to promote that achievement.
“As for the stallions without runners, it’s just as – if not more – important. We’re really excited about the first yearlings for Trapeze Artist, Written By and National Defense ahead of the ’22 sales and we’ll be able to utilise Stud Media for photos, videos, updates, while the same applies for Zousain whose first foals started arriving this month.
“As for Russian Camelot, Anders and Doubtland … well, usually we’ve been limited to a single conformational or racing shot in other directories, but the Premium service allows us to add multiple photos, videos and advertising, coupled with the extensive news service provided by Breednet.”
