First Winner for Aussie Bred G3 Winner Dawn Wall

A $1.3million Inglis Easter Yearling purchase, blue-blooded Fastnet Rock mare Dawn Wall was a Group III winner in Australia and produced her first winner overnight in Ireland.

Raced in Australia by Coolmore and the Niarchos family, the Chris Waller trained Dawn Wall was retired to stud in the Northern Hemisphere after winning four of 10 starts and nearly $300,000 in prizemoney with the Group III Kembla Classic her career highlight.

Sent to Galileo in her first season at stud she produced a cracking filly called Albula, who scored a stylish debut win at Naas over 1m.

Trained by Joseph O’Brien, the two year-old runs in the same colours carried by her mother and will look to up the ante and target Black Type races later in the year.

Dawn Wall was bred at Coolmore and consigned in their draft to Inglis Easter with BBA Ireland signing the docket at $1.3million.

Dawn Wall has a superb international pedigree being a half-sister to European Group III winners Osaila and Obama Rule, the dam of this season’s Group II winner Insinuendo.

Her dam Mennetou (IRE) is a three-quarter sister to champion racehorse and Group I sire Carnegie from Arc winner Detroit, the family also producing last year’s Melbourne Cup winner Twilight Payment.
