So You Think has had a personal best season siring 133 winners of over $13.7 million including 12 stakes-winners and his season ended with another four winners saluting on Saturday highlighted by promising three year-old filly So You Assume.
The Shane Nichols trained filly has really come of age this preparation and stepped up to Benchmark 78 company at Moonee Valley on Saturday to score a resounding victory.
Ridden on the pace by Dean Yendall, So You Assume thrashed her rivals after turning for home to win by four lengths taking her overall record to three wins and three placings from 10 starts with over $160,000 in prizemoney.
“We think she’ll get to 2000m in time,” said Shane Nichols.
“She’s not quite at stakes level now, so we might stick to this level for the next few weeks and then have a break and look for something at the back end of spring in November.”
A $40,000 Inglis Premier Book 2 purchase from the Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm draft for her trainer, So You Assume is the first foal from Remlaps Jewel, a winning half-sister by Choisir to Group I ATC Golden Rose winner Manawanui.
The busiest sire in Australia last spring, So You Think stands at Coolmore at a fee of $77,000.
