Sir Owen Glenn's Go
Bloodstock enjoyed a winning weekend with the success of Criterion's
progressive half-brother Comin' Through and the arrival of another stunning
foal by Criterion himself.
Sir Owen has five mares in New Zealand based at Curraghmore Stud and also has a
share in Tavistock so is keen to support the New Zealand industry.
"We selected a number of mares to go and foal down in New Zealand and have
their offspring grow out there as Sir Owen has a fond attachment to the
country," explained Go Bloodstock Manager Geoff Roan.
"One of those mares was Ruthless Lady, who has produced this lovely filly that
will be raised in New Zealand just like Criterion was."
Stakes-placed Ruthless Lady is a half-sister to Group II winner Oracy and
stakes-winner The Lady from Group II winner Lady Dehere, a half-sister to
triple Group I winner Sea Siren.
"Your mare and foal are thriving. I think you'd be delighted with this
Criterion filly. She's all quality and has a fast look about her," Curraghmore
Stud's Gordon Cunningham reported to Go Bloodstock.
The star of the Go
Bloodstock broodmare band is undoubtedly Criterion and Comin' Through's dam
Mica's Pride, who is based at Segenhoe Stud in the Hunter Valley.
"Mica's Pride is
safely in foal to Sebring," said Geoff Roan.
"Sir Owen has had five colts from her since purchasing her in 2009 so we are
hoping to get a filly from her this year.
"We have just sent her two year-old colt by Fastnet Rock into Peter Snowden's
stables and look forward to seeing if he has some of the family ability. He is
a strong type of Fastnet Rock and is very like Comin' Through.
"We still believe that Comin Throughs could have been a Group I winner at three
in the autumn had it not been for the very wet tracks.
"In the Guineas, where he ran a very game third, Joao Moreira said the wet
track got the better of him and that in six months' time he'll shine, how true that
has been."
The Chris Waller trained
Comin' Through has won both starts since resuming from a spell and will line up
in the Group I ATC Epsom Handicap with a light weight and winning form.
