First American Pharoah Son to Stud

The progeny of Triple Crown hero American Pharoah (USA) have made a strong impression on Japanese breeders with his Coolmore owned French Group I winning son Van Gogh set to stand at East Stud on Hokkaido.

Trained by Aidan O’Brien, Van Gogh was rated the Champion 2YO Colt of Europe for 2020 scoring a career defining win in the Group I Sant-Cloud Criterium International and this year was third in the Group I Irish Two Thousand Guineas.

A blue blooded half-brother to Group I winner Horatio Nelson and three other Group winners, he is from Champion 3YO Filly Imagine, a half-sister by Sadler’s Wells to Champion 3YO Colt and Epsom and Irish Derby winner Generous.

According the East Stud website, Van Gogh is due to be syndicated between 60 shareholders, while a stud fee will be announced in due course. 

American Pharoah is shuttling back to Coolmore Australia this spring at a fee of $49,500.
