All Good Things Come to An End

Tara Madgwick - Sunday July 18

As one door closes for this champion sire, another is about to open.

Arrowfield Stud’s flagship sire Snitzel has been champion Australian sire by earnings for the past four seasons, but will lose his crown this year with a fourth place finish behind Written Tycoon, Not a Single Doubt and I Am Invincible looming as the likely result.

Snitzel will however take some consolation from his status as the leading sire of Australian two year-old winners with just two weeks of the season to run.

Snitzel has posted 20 Australian juvenile winners headed by Group II winner Four Moves Ahead and stakes-winner Royalzel, while in New Zealand he’s been represented by Group I winning colt Sword of State.

Snitzel has a super impressive crop of 130 plus rising two year-olds conceived at a fee of $220,000 and 99 of them have been entered for the 2022 Golden Slipper, making him the equal third most represented sire for this pivotal race that he has won previously with Estijaab.

Champion sire Snitzel has a bumper crop of rising 2YO's.

A good number of his Golden Slipper entries have been named and they include:
