The biggest Golden Rose news in the last 24 hours has been that of Godolphin colt Kementari, which will bypass the race in favour of the Group III Caulfield Guineas (1400m) on October 1.

Kementari's omission has seen the Gerald Ryan-trained Menari tighten his grip on favouritism, now quoted odds-on with most agencies.

The barrier draw and final field, which is set at 16 plus four emergencies, will be announced after 9am on Tuesday.

Among the interstate runners are Shogun Sun of Queensland and undefeated Victorian Merchant Navy.
