Zoustar 2YO Winner Highlights Nick That Clicks

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 2

Gelding might be the making of Zoustar two year-old Sunfall, who charged home from last to break his maiden at Geelong on Friday.

Trained by Mick Price and Mick Kent Jr, Sunfall had three starts in November, December and January, the last of those finishing a distant sixth to subsequent Blue Diamond winner Artorius at Sandown.

He showed a lot more application to task this time around, finishing with a big rush to win the 1330m maiden by three-quarters of a length after jumping from the outside in the field of 13.

A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainers from the Eureka Stud draft, Sunfall is a full brother to Group III winner Charge and is the sixth winner from six to race from Queen of the Falls, a half-sister by General Nediym to Group II winner Elite Falls.

Zoustar has established a good nick with daughters of General Nediym, the cross producing seven winners from eight runners headed by Charge.

The sire of 13 stakes-winners worldwide this season, Zoustar stands at Widden Stud this spring at a fee of $154,000.

Zoustar has sired 133 winners this season.
