Julie Harris and her team at Holbrook Thoroughbreds will present three outstanding mares in the Inglis Chairman’s Sale on Friday evening and the star of the show is undeniably this season’s Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate winner Celebrity Queen.
A homebred for Bob and Sandra Peters, Celebrity Queen has blossomed over the summer finishing a close and unlucky second in the Group I WATC Winterbottom Stakes before venturing to Melbourne where she dead heated with Portland Sky in the Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate.
A four year-old daughter of champion sire Redoute’s Choice, Celebrity Queen has the impressive record of seven wins and four seconds from just 14 starts with over $800,000 in prizemoney and is being offered as a breeding prospect only as Lot 11.
Her dam is stakes-winning More Than Ready (USA) mare Celebrity Miss and her grand-dam is Group I winning Marscay mare Miss Margaret, so Celebrity Queen has the pedigree of a queen and the looks to match.
Lot 21 Festival Miss is another homebred for Bob And Sandra Peters and is a stakes-placed Bernardini (USA) mare from the famed ‘Arcadia ‘ family that has produced Group I winners Arcadia Queen and Regal Power, as well as Group II WA Derby winners Action and Arcadia Dream.
A five time winner of nearly $300,000 in prizemoney she is offered straight off the track as a breeding prospect and has not been to stud.
Lot 31 is Melbourne metro winning Foxwedge mare Kuramae, who has had a big pedigree update this year as a half-sister to Group I ATC Surround Stakes winner Forbidden Love.
One of the best three year-old fillies this season, Forbidden Love has won over $700,000 in prizemoney and the daughter of All Too Hard is still on the improve with more to come as her career unfolds in the care of Richard and Michael Freedman.
Kuramae is offered as a breeding prospect only and has a quality international Black Type pedigree.
