One to Watch – Ballarat

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 11

First Light Racing and partners have a big group of owners involved in a well bred Not a Single Doubt filly that opened her account with a dominant win at Ballarat on Sunday.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, three year-old Surecan was backed as though she was a sure thing in the 1400m maiden and duly delivered for punters.

Third on debut at the same venue when she did a few thing wrong, Surecan atoned with a three and a quarter length win.

Surecan as a yearling
A half-sister by Mossman to Group I winning champion South African sire Gimmethegreenlight, Ofcourseican has a yearling filly by Astern and no return lodged to studbook since then.
