Second Million Dollar Colt for Zoustar

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 7

Earlier today Zoustar set a new benchmark for himself at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when a colt from Fireworks sold for $1.15 million and that record has now been broken with the Widden Stud bred and sold colt from Lady Jivago selling for $1.25 million.

He was bought by progressive Victorian trainer Matt Laurie, who has enjoyed Group I success this season with classy three year-old colt Portland Sky.

$1.25 million Zoustar colt from Lady Jivago

Lady Jivago was bought by Widden Stud for $420,000 from the 2018 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and is now back in foal to Zoustar again after having a year off following the birth of this $1.25 million colt.

Widden Stud’s Antony Thompson is delighted by the success of Zoustar at this sale although not surprised.

“These are the Zoustar’s bred off the back of when he became Champion First Season Sire, so they are from some of the best mares he’s covered,” Thompson said.
