Inglis to Offer Weanling 3/4 Brother to Russian Revolution

Media Release - Sunday March 19

A day after retiring star colts Extreme Choice and Flying Artie, China Horse Club and partners welcomed another Group 1 winner into their team when Russian Revolution won The Galaxy at Rosehill.

Russian RevolutionThe well-bred 3YO(Snitzel x Ballet D'amour)proved too strong for the older horses to record his first Group 1 at just his sixth career start.

China Horse Club's Mr Teo was ecstatic after the win, a result he believed would have a significant financial impact on the Australian industry moving forward.

"I think Australia is going to get a lot of attention from more investors as a result of this win. For sure I can say that,'' Me Teo said.

"This does a lot for the China Horse Club and our partners.

"The horse, he's just showed he's a real Snitzel, he handled this track and he won very well.''

Russian Revolution was a $320,000 buy for China Horse Club/Michael Wallace Bloodstock from the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Vinery Stud draft.

Henry Field, of part-owner Newgate Farm, described the result as "a very important one for us''.

"He's an incredibly well bred colt, an incredibly talented colt and he'll make a huge impact at stud,'' Field said.

"He's won five from six, to be fair to Peter and Paul (Snowden) they said he was the real deal from the beginning, and that's been vindicated today with his Group 1.''

Field and the other major owners have ridden a rollercoaster of emotions in the past 36 hours.

"Racing's a tough game. We retired Extreme Choice and Flying Artie yesterday, we hadn't had a great preparation with them, things went wrong so we decided to retire them rather than chase our tail,'' Field said.

"But racing is a great game too. The next day, a colt like this from the family of Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur, that is everything the Snowdens said he was, wins a Group 1. It's amazing.''

Lot 11 is a Wandjina three quarter brother to today's Group one winner and Lot 68 Miss Interiors is a half-sister to Russian Revolution and recent Group Three winner Turbo Miss and will be offered in foal to exciting young stallion Deep Field.

Earlier on Saturday, Derryn relished the heavy Rosehill conditions to secure his first Stakes victory in the Listed Darby Munro Stakes.

The Lindsay Park-trained 3YO has spent the majority of his career competing against the best, with eight of his nine starts being in black-type races.

The Listed win was thoroughly deserved forthe son of Hinchinbrook and Munhro, which Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock paid $110,000 for at the 2015 Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Bylong Park Thoroughbreds draft.

The victory was also the first at Stakes level for the progeny of Lonhro mare Munhro.

Meanwhile Hardham earned himself a tilt at the ATC Australian Derby with a strong win in Friday night's Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Trained by David Brideoake, Hardham(Redoute's Choice x Nureyev's Girl)was coming off a big run in the Randwick Guineas prior, and will now return to Sydney to try to claim an elusive Group 1 win during The Championships.

He was a $300,000 buy for Moody Racing at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Broadwater Thoroughbreds draft.
