Coming off a fast-finishing win in the $1million Fillies and Mares race on Magic Millions day at the Gold Coast, the Tony Gollan trained 5yo mare came from the rear of the field to win running way by one and three-quarter lengths from Tricky Gal (Magic Albert) with Icebath (Sacred Falls) a length back in third.

It was a rare trip to Sydney for trainer Tony Gollan.

“I came down and I was hoping there would be a bit more rain to be honest,” Golan said.

uo;She’s a really good wet-tracker and I guess she earned herself a free pass to have a crack down here at the Autumn when she won on Magic Millions day. It’s been a well-orchestrated plan I guess you could say, a bit of rain came, just rode her back nice and quiet and she ran on beautifully.

"She’s a nice fit mare, she had a good summer up in Queensland obviously winning the fillies and mares race Magic Millions day and hopefully she can go on and have a crack at a bigger race in a couple of weeks time.

“Her owners were really keen after she won in Queensland to give her a free hit at a race like that (Coolmore Classic). So, we thought we’d have a crack at this and see if she was up to this grade and she’s proven today she was. Obviously, it will be a lot deeper pool in a fortnight but who knows.

“It’s only my third (trip to Sydney) I think. My first Group 1 was here with Temple Of Boom he won the Galaxy at Randwick. Then we brought Dee Nine Elle who won a couple down here at Canterbury and one at Rosehill I think when we had a small stable down here and now Krone. We haven’t had a lot, but Randwick’s been good to me obviously with my first Group 1 and now this mare.”

The well-travelled daughter of Eurozone claimed the Listed SAJC Cinderella Stakes at two and the Listed ATC Darby Munro Stakes at three, and theListed Glasshouse Handicap at four and has been stakes-placed a further eight times.

A $120,000 Magic Millions 2YO's in Training purchase for Roll the Dice Racing, Krone has been a great success for her big team of owners as she advances her record to five wins, five seconds and five thirds from 25 starts with earnings of $1,076,650.

The 5yo mare been a financial success for all that have been involved with her. She made $30,000 as a weanling in 2017 at the Magic Millions when offered by her breeders Bell View Park and then $60,000 as a yearling when bought by Rosemont Stud at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Widden Stud draft.

Krone is the best of two winners from four to race from Soft Landing, a half-sister by Al Maher to Group I winners Universal Prince and Universal Queen. She has a 2yo filly by Fighting Sun that failed to make her $40,000 reserve at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Not served in 2019, Soft Landing slipped to Sun Stud’s Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner National Defense (GB) in 2019 before being covered by Spendthrift Farm's reeders' Cup Classic heri Vino Rosso (Curlin) last spring.
