Trading Showjumping for Bloodstock

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday February 3

World Cup showjumper Brooke Langbecker has traded the jump arena for the Riverside Stables complex this week as she prepares and presents a dashing grey colt she pinhooked for the 2021 Inglis Classic Yearling sale.

One of Australia’s most successful young showjump riders, Langbecker is a regular fixture on the elite showjumping circuit competing high class imported stallions Quintago, Black Jack and Beijing.

Brooke Langbecker is one of Australia's best young showjumpers.

In recent weeks, the apple of her eye has been Lot 679, a grey colt by Akeed Mofeed (GB) from Nearly Did.

The colt is consigned by Kenmore Lodge and comes from a Black Type family that has produced current stakes-winners Shelby Cobra and Parlophone.

Brooke’s parents Letitia and Kerry Langbecker were both successful showjumpers and own and run Embrook Stables, a popular boutique spelling and pre-training farm in Queensland that is the home away from Tony Gollan’s stables for glamour filly Isotope.

Embrook Stables is named for the Langbecker's two daughters Brooke and Emma, who also works in the family business.

Aside from breeding and producing elite showjumpers, Embrook Stables is also dabbling in thoroughbred breeding and had success at the recent Magic Millions Yearling Sale selling a Deep Field filly from Al Nova for $160,000 in Book 2, also in the Kenmore Lodge draft.

The Embrook Stables brand is also on show at Inglis Classic on Lot 106, a Kenmore Lodge consigned colt by Exosphere from Light Lustre (IRE).

He is the second foal of a stakes-placed Rock of Gibraltar mare from the family of Melbourne Cup hero Americaine (USA).
