There was one Group I entry on the course proper Tuesday ahead of racing at Flemington on the weekend and he flew.

The James Cummings-trained Hartnell has thrived since his first-up win in the PB Lawrence Stakes and was wide out over 1200m, breaking 23 seconds for the last 400m and not allowed off the bridle ahead of Saturday's Group I Makybe Diva Stakes.

Markers on the steeple grass were out six metres, riders reporting the ground riding in the good (3) range, the course proper rated a firm (2) on Monday afternoon.

Watchmespin & Second Bullet
