At the 100 lot mark on day one of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale over $16 million has been traded so we thought we’d check the stats to see how it’s tracking.

Aggregate: $16,840,000
Average: $218,701
Median: $160,000

I Am Invincible x Zighy Bay colt made $800,000 on day one.

In comparison to the overall stats from the 2020 sale the average was $247,000 and Median $180,000.

I Am Invincinble is leading the sire averages with five sold at an average of $558,000.

There have been nine sold for $500,000 or more and here’s the thoughts from some of those connected.

Harry Mitchell from Yarraman Park who have not surprisingly kicked the sale off nicely with their I Am Invincibles.

Adam White from Vinery Stud who sold Lot 20, a colt by Written Tycoon x Afleet Esprit for $525,000 to Tony Fung Investments and Phoenix Thoroughbreds.

 

Toby Liston from Three Bridges Thoroughbreds who sold lot 37 a colt by I Am Invincible from Alteza Real for $500,000 to Waller Racing and Mulcaster Bloodstock.

 

Rob Petith from Silverdale Farm who sold Lot 27, a colt by Written Tycoon from Alcatraz for $625,000 to James Bester Bloodstock and Coolmore Stud.

 

Ollie Tait from Twin Hills Stud who sold Lot 9, a half-brother to Gr.1 winner Capital Gain, by Pierro from Zuzao for $520,000 to Tony Fung Investments and Phoenix Thoroughbreds.

 

Brian Nutt from Attunga Stud who sold Lot 7, a half-brother to Gr.1 SA Derby winner Qafila, by I Am Invincble from Zighy Bay for $800,000 to Waller Racing and Mulcaster Bloodstock.
