Racenet Blackbookers from Saturday

Clinton Payne - Tuesday September 12

Our video analysts have supplied you with their number one run from the weekend's metropolitan meetings.

Sydney form analyst Greg Polson has blackbooked a horse for the $200,000 Anniversary Highway Handicap on October 14.

All you have to do is use Racenet's free blackbook service and we will email you when any of these horses are due to race.

Did you back something which was a good thing beaten? Or maybe just turned in an eye-catching run?

Come on, share it with the rest of us, through the 'comments' section below.

ROSEHILL – Greg Polson

GALAXY WARRIOR – I was quite taken by the return of Galaxy Warrior on Saturday. Jumping from barrier 13 in the 1400m handicap, Galaxy Warrior went back to the rear of the field to find cover but did his best work late with his last 600m sectional (33.94) only marginally behind the winner Wayanka which recorded the quickest last 600m (33.90). Galaxy Warrior is this week’s blackbooker with one race in mind – the $200,000 Anniversary Highway Benchmark 80 Handicap (1400m) to be run on Everest Day at Randwick – October 14. The race is restricted to horses that have contested Highway Handicaps since their inception in October 2015. Galaxy Warrior has contested two Highways finishing runner-up on both occasions. No doubt Williams will find another race for Galaxy Warrior in the interim with a 1500m Highway Handicap at Rosehill on September 23 looking an ideal assignment on route to the October riches for the country-trained horses. Career statistics (12:4-3-0).

MOONEE VALLEY – Cameron Happ

PURE SCOT – Going for one that was well beaten on Saturday with the Hayes-Dabernig trained daughter of Purrealist. She was first-up at Moonee Valley on the weekend after showing some solid ability in her first preparation. She showed no early speed to be back near last and then at around the 600m mark she went off the bit to drop out two lengths off the last horse straightening. She had no chance of getting near Shoals that was up dominating on pace but she did manage to pick a few up on the line, running close to the fastest last 400 and 200m sectionals in the race. She’ll take good improvement for the run and she’s clearly looking for a touch longer, and a bigger track. Likely to go around big odds again next start but I’m sure she’ll run a big race. Career statistics (5:2-0-1).

DOOMBEN – Graeme Carey

SCRABBLE – Consistent performer from the Stuart Kendrick stable who was having his second outing since resuming in a Class 3 over 1200m. He settled well back off the speed to the home turn where Damian Browne shifted him out and he kept up a strong gallop to the line to finish fourth, two lengths off the winner. He looks to have come back in good order, is still eligible for Class 2, and once he gets up to his preferred distance of a mile will be hard to hold out. Career statistics (18:2-6-2).

MORPHETTVILLE – Heath Pope

SO YOU TOO – He produced an outstanding return when runner-up behind the in-form Chamois Road on Saturday. He endured a torrid run, racing no closer than four/five wide without cover throughout, yet still had the audacity to keep hitting the line strongly taking late ground off winner. Expect him to strip fitter again, and he should be ready to win having previously produced a strong second-up record. He’s always shown he’s a galloper going places, producing placings in Group II and Listed company when last in work and certainly wouldn’t surprise to see him step up to a new level this campaign with some rich Melbourne spring races within reach, preferably between 1200 to 1400m. Career statistics (13:3-3-3).

BELMONT – Aaron Mills

MASSACHUSETTS – Ran home in similar sectionals to impressive all-the-way winner Floyd so the effort to finish a distant fifth is not as bad as first appears. After settling last and giving away around six lengths on straightening, Massachusetts peeled to the outside and made good steady ground in the run to the line. Looks suited now by a step up in distance and with a class three rating the daughter of Stratum can be well placed at the midweeks or provincials over the coming weeks. Career record (23:3-7-5).
