The
Muswellbrook meeting on Sunday produced the first winner for new Randwick
trainer Edward O'Rourke, who took over the stables of Michael Freedman.
Sent out favourite for the 1280 metre maiden at her first start, Sepoy filly
Takahashi raced up on the pace and kicked on strongly to the line to win by a
short neck.
Edward O'Rourke has a number of promising horses in work including last season's
star juvenile filly Frolic.
The Newhaven Park owned filly won the Group II ATC Riesling Stakes and was
second in the Golden Slipper when trained by Michael Freedman and transferred
to O'Rourke after Freedman elected to try his hand in Hong Kong.
