Tara Madgwick - Sunday December 27

Progressive mare Amica has been gradually working her way through the grades and looked good scoring a half length win in a Benchmark 78 event (1800m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, Amica won two country races at Goulburn earlier in the year, but has come back a much stronger mare this preparation.

She’s now won three of her last four starts with her past two wins coming in good class metropolitan company with her overall record now five wins and a second from 11 starts with prizemoney topping $143,000.

Retained to race by her breeders, Amica is the bets of three metropolitan winners from stakes-winning Shamardal (USA) mare Femina Fashion, a half-sister to Group I winner Happy Archer.

Best known as  the sire of Everest winner Yes Yes Yes and the brilliant Group II winner Rubisaki, Rubick has 23 yearlings for 2021 Magic Millions and you can see them here.
